Rob ‘Waldo’ Waldman - The Wingman - delivers the message of maximizing performance in competitive environments. He teaches associations and corporations how to build trusting, revenue producing relationships with their employees, partners, and customers while relaying his personal experiences as a combat decorated fighter pilot (65 missions in Iraq and Serbia) and businessman. He makes a striking parallel that is memorable and exciting and brings fighter-pilot energy and passion into each story and illustration.

His message is simple: Whether achieving greatness as a fighter pilot or in business, the same qualities that drive success apply: disciplined training, dedicated teamwork, impassioned leadership, and most of all…unwavering trust. More importantly, in business and life, we need Wingmen – Trusted and Reliable Partners – to win!

Waldo believes that the key to building a culture of trust lies with your wingmen – the men and women in your life who help you to overcome obstacles, adapt to change, and achieve success. In business and life, you should never fly solo! The solution to winning when the heat is on lies in the ability of every wingman in your organization, regardless of their role, to give 110% and support the team!

A graduate of the U.S Air Force Academy, Waldo also holds an MBA with a focus on Organizational Behavior. Having transitioned from Top Gun to top salesman and entrepreneur, Waldo evolved into a peak performance expert with a passionate ability to adapt to risky and demanding situations. And check out our “Speaker of the Day” today: Michael Treacy.

Since the 1990s, Michael Treacy has been regarded as one of the world’s leading experts on corporate strategies for growth, and more recently has become noted for his ideas on the role of product innovation in growth strategies. He co-authored one of the best-selling business books of the 1990s, The Discipline of Market Leaders.   He published his most recent book, Double-Digit Growth, in September 2003. The book has appeared on the bestseller lists compiled by Business Week and The Wall Street Journal.

Treacy co-founded GEN3 in late 1999 with Jim Sims and has been the firm’s chief strategy officer. In that role, he has been responsible for helping chart the firm’s growth strategy, identifying the service offerings, and developing client relationships.

His work with GEN3 has led to the development of a unique point of view on the success and failure of product innovation initiatives. Through Treacy’s expertise in revenue growth and innovation, he has identified areas in which innovation is not fully understood, is not deployed with a corporate process and lacks the ability to identify what to innovate on. Developed in conjunction with client engagements, industry research and market trends, these views are providing insight for organizations that are challenged to achieve growth and competitive advantage.

His research led to his co-developing the G3: Innovation Discipline (G3:ID) which is the leading methodology for dramatically increasing the impact, speed, and productivity of new product development. His structured analysis and thought leadership has created a comprehensive methodology integrating his expertise and knowledge on Growth Strategies, Market Leadership Strategies and Management Disciplines.

Treacy has also supported GEN3 Ventures, a fund dedicated to identifying and growing new  companies based on technology and product breakthroughs.

Prior to GEN3, Treacy built a strategy consulting firm, Treacy & Co., which served companies in telecommunications, industrial products, financial services, transportation and retailing. He also worked with one of the fastest-growing consulting firms of the 1990s, CSC Index, on research and development of its strategy consulting practice.

Treacy is a popular speaker at major corporate and business association events. Throughout the 1980s, he was a professor of management at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He has an engineering degree from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. from MIT.

No, professional speaking might not have been predicted when Jeanne was in the seventh grade in Graham, North Carolina, when and where she would have been voted most likely to make the basketball team and least likely to be a contestant in the Miss America Pageant. She did make the team—averaging more than thirty points per game in her junior and senior years—but as Miss North Carolina 1963 she also competed in the Miss America Pageant where she was named Miss Congeniality.

It was her participation in and perhaps even her losing of the Miss America title that turned Jeanne’s life into a succession of events which led her to be one of the funniest, busiest and most popular professional speakers in America today. Because she was asked to speak every day as Miss North Carolina, Jeanne traveled her native state for one year speaking at pageants and addressing civic clubs and corporations. When that time was over, she found that people were willing to pay her to come and address their groups and conventions and loving every laughing minute of it. They wanted Jeanne-not just a title holder-and they wanted her because she made them laugh.

At that point, Jeanne still viewed speaking as a way to make a little money while continuing her education. She received her degree at Auburn University and taught physical education in high school and college, a career she enjoyed for nine years. But throughout those years, the requests continued to pour in for her to speak. In 1976, she stopped teaching and entered professional speaking full time.

With the flexibility to speak more often, Jeanne’s rise in the speaking profession was nothing short of phenomenal. Clients and speakers alike were quick to recognize her ability. In addition to a full speaking schedule year after year, she has been awarded every top honor and designation in her profession including the Certified Speaking Professional designation (CSP) in 1980 and being inducted in the CPAE Speaker Hall Of Fame in 1981.  A member of NSA/Carolinas, she served as President of the National Speakers Association in 1985.  In 1989 she became the first woman to receive that association’s most cherished honor, the Cave  Award. The Cavett is awarded annually to one member “whose accomplishments, integrity and reputation are a credit to NSA and the speaking profession.”

Toastmasters International named Jeanne the recipient of its 1998 Golden Gavel Award, given annually to one individual for accomplishments in leadership and communications. She is the only female professional speaker who has received this honor. Other recipients include Lowell Thomas, Walter Cronkite, Earl Nightingale, Art Linkletter, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Tom Peters, Mark Russell, Ken Blanchard and Zig Ziglar.

In recognition of her professional expertise, experience, and competence, Jeanne was honored by the NCAA Southeastern Conference as Auburn University's Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2000.

Jeanne has written Three Books on humor - Humor: The Magic of Genie, Mayberry Humor Across the USA and Don’t Let the Funny Stuff Get Away. These books are filled with reality-based stories, which illustrate her humor philosophy.
